Work In Progress

Still working on some new zines for Canzine. Originally, I was focusing on my recent long distance move for my new zine but that all changed when I started obsessing over my current job searching. So, the new issue will have a focus on surviving the job hunt with other fun stuff included. I have also been working on a cute set of Kiss Bandit postcards using public domain pictures. Can not wait to get them printed and use them for my own snail mail.

Coming Up

Currently working on Issue 1 of the Bebe Pies zine. This first issue will mainly focus on long distance moves and radio loves. Oh, and cute puppies.

Medatative Walk

Before my mom and I set off on our 'Camino de Santiago' adventure we prepared physically. We researched how much ( or, more accurately, how little) to bring on the journey, plotted our path, and practiced walking with our backpacks. This was all well and good, but I had forgotten to prepare for one of the fundamental aspects of a pilgrimage: meditation.
Meditating is often associated with a seated position. It takes place in an environment one selects for its tranquility. When we picture meditative walks there is the scene of a leisurely pace and a warm day with a calming breeze enveloping the meditator. A pilgrimage is filled with drastic changes in temperature, an uneven pace, and many distractions. It can be difficult to find stillness in movement at the best of times; add a heavy backpack, swollen feet, and a downpour of rain and it can seem like a lost cause. With some pre-pilgrimage practice, I believe I might have been able to put more intention and thought into some of the steps I took while on the pilgrimage.
While the Camino has come and gone for me, I have now been attempting to hone my walking meditation skills. At the moment, I focus on one foot at a time as it lifts off the ground, moves forward, and once again feels the ground beneath it. It's nothing momentous but it feels like a good start.

Hello :)

My mom gave me the name Bebe Pies when we were on the Camino de Santiago. I wrote a zine about the beginnings of that journey. I am currently reworking that first part of the story while also writing part 2. I hope to share some of the rough drafts of that zine and other here. I love zines but am rather slow at putting them together. The zine muse is not easily scheduled...at least for me.

My Instagram acct. often features my love for vintage clothing and playing dress up. I love to make things but they rarely turn out how I pictured them in my mind. I often feel as though I am a Pinterest fail come to life. The joy is in the making, not the final product, right?

I hope to share stories and photos that are works in progress here. Some are audio stories, others were written for the page.

My sidekick is a Tibetan Terrier named Agent Cooper.
